破TED紀錄鼓掌最久的演說，布萊恩史蒂文森(Bryan Stevenson)的演講: "我們需要談談不正義"

We Need to Talk about Injustice 我們需要談談不正義! 

今天看了這段TED史上全場起立鼓掌最久的演說，感動至深! 覺得一定要寫幾句心得。這場演說發生在2012年3月5日，主講者布萊恩史蒂文森(Bryan Stevenson)是平等正義之始 (Equal Justice Initiative) 這個組織的創建者也是執行長，為了貧窮議題而奮戰，並且挑戰司法體系中的種族歧視。

這場演講中有幾段話讓我覺得有振聾發聵之效，列舉如下並希望日後常常拿出來自我惕勵:

第一段話是布萊恩承諾他的祖母要做的三件事情中的第二件:

 "The second thing I want you to promise me is that you'll always do the right thing even when the right thing is the hard thing." 
"第二件事情我要你承諾我你會永遠做對的事情，即使對的事情是困難的事情。"

這句話深深觸動了我，有太多的時候，要堅持做對的事情是困難的，是費力的，是要和大家不一樣的，但是我想以後每次當我碰到了兩難的狀況時，我會問自己，我是否在做對的事情? 如果是對的事情，即使是困難的也要堅持下去! 

I say that because there is power in identity. When we create the right kind of identity, we can say things to the world around us that they don't actually believe makes sense. We can get them to do things that they don't think they can do.

 我說那段話是因為自我定位是有力量的，當我們創造出了正確的自我定位，我們可以向四周圍的世界說出他們不真的相信，但讓他們覺得有意義的話，我們可以讓他們開始去做他們本來認為自己做不到的事情。

Ultimately, you judge the character of a society, not by how they treat their rich and the powerful and the privileged, but by how they treat the poor, the condemned, the incarcerated. Because it's in that nexus that we actually begin to understand truly profound things about who we are.
終極而言，當你評斷一個社會的特質，不是看他們如何對待他們社會中的富人和權貴，而是看他們如何對待社會中的窮人，被譴責者，和監獄中的囚犯。因為就是在這樣的關聯中，我們開始真正深刻地去了解我們究竟是甚麼樣的人。

I also believe that in many parts of this country, and certainly in many parts of this globe, that the opposite of poverty is not wealth. I don't believe that. I actually think, in too many places, the opposite of poverty is justice.
我也相信在這個國家的許多地方，而且當然在這個地球上的許多地方，貧窮的相反不是富有，我不相信那個。我事實上相信，在非常多的地方，貧窮的相反是正義!

That we cannot be full evolved human beings until we care about human rights and basic dignity. That all of our survival is tied to the survival of everyone.
直到我們在乎人權和基本尊嚴之前，我們無法成為充分演化的人類。我們所有人的生存，是和每一個人的生存息息相關!
